The Role

This is a fantastic position for a Contentious Trusts & Estates Associate to join this leading Top 30 international practice within their City of London office.

The role will include advising on a range of contentious trust and estate matters, including litigation relating to wills and inheritance disputes; all manner of probate disputes relating to the validity of a will, the administration of an estate, and challenges to lifetime disposals. Including both domestic and international estates.

Also, you'll handle trust litigation, including the formation and administration of a trust and any disputes surrounding the exercise or non-exercise of powers, both domestic and international.

Domestic and international variation of trust applications, mediation to resolve disputes, risk management in the trust administration process, cross-border estate planning conflicts, and arbitration proceedings in relation to trust structures.

You'll also be involved in all manner of COP matters (deputies, attorneys, DOLs, and statutory wills).

Requirements

  • You will need to be a solicitor qualified in England and Wales with strong contentious trust and estates experience.
  • Ideally, you will be coming from a similarly focused practice with experience in as many of the above matters as possible.
  • You will have good organisational skills.
  • You will have enthusiasm for intellectually challenging work.
  • Excellent client relationship skills and experience in business development.
