The Role
The firm is seeking to hire an Associate in Data to join their thriving office in the heart of London's West End.
They are seeking an Associate with ideally 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience and interest and experience in a broad range of data protection and commercial matters, including compliance with the UK GDPR.
This role is a perfect opportunity for an individual looking to develop and grow within an established and specialised team of 3 partners and 6 associates supported by 3 personal assistants.
The data team works with clients to protect and exploit their data assets, creating and protecting revenue streams and helping them to maximise growth.
The team is mostly in London, but there is also a partner in Berlin, Germany, who has been instrumental in developing their office in Berlin, which was opened in recent years.
The team has specialist expertise in IT and technology law covering software and digital services, data protection and cyber risk, emerging technologies, and industry focus tailored to media, tech, advertising, and creative industries. Also, commercial guidance for both mature companies and start-ups.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting of agreements and legal documents
- Assessing clients' data uses and respective impacts on privacy.
- Advising clients
- Negotiating with counterparts
- Marketing and business development
Requirements:
- You will be a Data Associate 3-5 PQE with experience in:
- Software licensing, including software as a service and on premises contracts;
- Distribution, reselling and agency agreements;
- Software development, maintenance and support agreements;
- End user licenses and consumer terms;
- Open source licensing.
- You will be commercially minded with the ability to deliver top-tier client service.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
