The Department

The property litigation team is highly ranked in the Legal 500 for London and manages a wide range of disputes, such as breaches of covenants, lease renewals, forfeiture, and possession of land and tenant insolvency.

The Role

This top-tier, highly rated law firm in central London is seeking a 1-5 PQE Property Litigation Associate. Candidates with more experience will also be considered.

As a result of continued growth, the team is looking for a bright, motivated, and enthusiastic associate to join their London office and be part of a friendly, busy, and highly successful team.

The successful candidate will encounter a wide variety of both residential and commercial property litigation.

Particular responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • 1954 Act claims where renewal is either opposed or there is substantial dispute over renewal terms.
  • Commercial property disputes concerning breach of covenant or substantial arrears
  • Residential property disputes concerning breach of covenant or substantial arrears
  • Residential possession
  • Service charge disputes
  • Dilapidations claims
  • Enfranchisement claims
  • Telecommunications Act claims
  • Contentious rent review advice
  • Agricultural disputes
  • Neighbour disputes

Experience and attributes required:

  • 1+ PQE Property Litigation Solicitor qualified in England & Wales
    • Enfranchisement knowledge is useful but not essential;
    • Experience must have been gained in a reputable London or regional firm.
  • A good team player;
  • Ability to manage multiple files while maintaining exceptional attention to detail;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both team members and clients;
  • Excellent academics;
