The role

The firm is seeking to hire a Commercial Data Protection Partner to join their City of London office.

• This role has come about as a result of a surge of new work, particularly in relation to GDPR and Data Protection matters. This is a growth area for the firm. This role would find you working with the wider commercial partners to lead and drive the department forwards.
• This is an exciting role which will allow you the autonomy to grow and shape the firms commercial department.
• The caseload will cover general commercial contracts, however with their being a focus on GDPR and Data Protection.
• You will deal with a caseload that consists of representing Asia Pacific companies who have an operation in the UK, you will deal with a broad commercial caseload which will have a focus towards data protection, GDPR, advising on privacy laws, dealing with data breaches, data audits and advising on general commercial contracts as well as policies.
• You will work with the other partners to drive the departments forwards

Requirements

• You will be a Commercial Solicitor with at least 6 years PQE (there is no upper limit to the amount of experience)
• You should have experience of dealing with data protection and GDPR.
• You will have a track record in developing new business
• You should ideally have experience of dealing with international clients, although this isn't essential.
• Salary is negotiable depending on your background and level of experience.
