The role:

Opportunity for a Risk & Compliance Lawyer looking to join a national law firm in their Manchester office.

In this role, you'll join the risk management and compliance efforts, serving as a pivotal liaison for all staff members and overseeing legal and administrative functions.

Your responsibilities will encompass a spectrum of tasks, including but not limited to managing practicing certificate renewals, overseeing accreditations, ensuring compliance with data protection and anti-money laundering regulations, and maintaining financial systems and IT security protocols.

Collaborating closely with the firm's management team, you'll play a crucial role in refining and implementing compliance procedures, while also delivering comprehensive training sessions to foster awareness and engagement throughout the firm.

It is essential that you have up to date knowledge of risk and compliance requirements and have a proven track record in a law firm or in-house legal team. The firm is open to hearing from those coming from a Professional Negligence or Litigation background with transferrable skills.

The ideal candidate:

  • Understands requirements of SRA, FCA, GDRD, POCA and AML
  • Good working knowledge of the relevant laws, regulations and codes of conduct applicable to the operation of a law firm, including the SRA Handbook
  • Good commercial awareness with a focus on implementing risk and compliance controls within a business
