This well-respected Criminal law firm have recently been acquired by an international Insurance conglomerate and are seeking a high-performing Criminal Defence solicitor to join their collaborative legal team in Central London.
You will be running a case load of high-profile cases, dealing with both criminal and regulatory proceedings.

They have a strong reputation for their expertise in representing police officers, pilots, and professionals involved in judicial reviews, court martials, and inquests.
They are retained by various staff associations and have contracts with insurers and the Home Office to provide legal assistance to the Special Constabulary nationally. The firm is dedicated to publicly funded work, maintaining high standards as required by the Legal Aid Authority?. The Role
You will be responsible for attending and representing clients at the Police Station, including undertaking call-out obligations for out-of-hours attendances. You will manage general case preparation, instruct Counsel for cases, and attend conferences. Additionally, you will assist Senior Solicitors, trainees, and paralegals with case management and progression, ensuring thorough research and instruction of suitable experts when necessary.
Your role will involve representing witnesses in connection with cases, preparing statements, and representing clients at Crown Courts, Coroner's Court, and various tribunals as appropriate. You will also attend conferences with Counsel to ensure robust case development and representation. A key aspect of your responsibilities includes ensuring compliance with all professional obligations, including case conduct and management in accordance with SRA obligations for an ABS and adherence to the SRA Handbook.
Furthermore, you will liaise with all key support functions within the parent company, such as Compliance, Facilities, Finance, HR, Legal, Marketing, and IT, to meet reporting requirements. Other duties may be assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organisation, reflecting the dynamic nature of the role and the necessity to adapt to various operational demands.
