The Department:
The Family team deals with a wide array of family legal matters, from pre-nuptial agreements to complex divorce and financial disputes. With expertise spanning both national and international cases, the team is trusted by clients to handle everything from child arrangements to child abduction, offering top-quality legal solutions and empathetic guidance during difficult times.

The Role:
This is an exceptional opportunity for a 4-8 PQE Family Associate to join the firm's Dispute Resolution Family team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality service to a diverse client base. The position offers exposure to a variety of complex family matters, working closely with experienced Partners and Senior Associates.

As a Family Associate, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing your own caseload of family matters, including divorce, matrimonial finance disputes, child arrangements, and pre-nuptial agreements.
  • Supporting the Partners and Senior Associates on more complex, high-value cases, including those with international elements.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and referrers, ensuring the highest standards of client care are delivered.
  • Contributing to the development of the team through participation in meetings and internal training programs.
  • Assisting with marketing and business development initiatives, such as writing articles and attending seminars to enhance the team's profile.

Key Requirements:

  • 4-8 years PQE with solid experience in family law matters, including divorce, financial disputes, and child-related matters.
  • Strong knowledge of family law legislation and relevant case law.
  • A high standard of client care with the ability to handle sensitive issues empathetically.
  • Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident working in a team environment, supporting colleagues as needed, and contributing to the firm's culture and values.
  • The ability to work autonomously while meeting deadlines and fee targets.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with clients and colleagues alike.
