Insurance Contracts Manager | Global Shipping & Logistics Business | Aberdeen

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Insurance professional to represent this international Shipping business on the world stage.

You will be tackling a range of insurance contracts with an array of high-net-worth clients, in order to ensure that business risk is minimised.

The Business

This business is a household name in the international shipping and logistics sector. Having been operating around the globe for over 100 years, they currently have over 40 offices worldwide and are renowned for chartering, ship-owning, GFF, resupply transports, complex project freight forwarding and much more.

Their mission is to provide safe and effective delivery of specialist cargo to hard-to-access locations, all while ensuring they support the welfare of local communities and regions in which they operate. They consider the fight against climate change and the achievement of zero-emission targets a two-way street to which every one of us and every company has the responsibility to contribute.

The business has hubs in Europe, Africa and Central Asia and it will be a requirement for you to travel to these locations to meet with stakeholders, colleagues and clients alike.

The Role

You will be responsible for an array of Insurance and Claims management tasks, including but not limited to; reviewing client contracts on the 'buy side' and 'sell side', advising the CEO on risks contained in each contract and the business impact, advising business managers on insurance coverage and business risk, managing claims through registration to closure, and much more.

It will also be essential to deal with claims arising out of the contracts that they enter into, by ensuring that there will be no gaps in the liabilities that the business incur in the contracts entered into. The main aim of this role is to ensure that business risks are known and covered by suitable insurance products and services.

The business requires an ambitious and forward-thinking Insurance professional who is comfortable liaising with senior stakeholders, able to communicate competently with underwriters and is eager to travel to various international destinations to represent this business on the world stage.

The ideal candidate:

  • Minimum 5 years claim handling experience
  • Ability to risk asses high value insurance contracts (preferably in Shipping/Maritime/Logistics/Marine)
  • Knowledge of global logistics market and its key underwriters
